Report: Switzerland most likely destination for Crosby

Philadelphia Flyers v Pittsburgh Penguins

If Sidney Crosby gives up on the NHL and heads overseas to play hockey, sources tell the Ottawa Sun it will likely be in Switzerland, not Russia.

Why not the KHL? Apparently because of the risk he’ll be “targeted,” as well as the arduous travel demands.

Would Crosby actually be a skating bullseye if he were to sign in the KHL? That’s highly questionable. But to quote Remo from Casino before the bosses decided to clip Andy Stone, why take a chance?

(Casino was on TV last night.)

The Swiss league is already home to Canadian and American NHL stars like Joe Thornton, Rick Nash, Tyler Seguin, Patrick Kane, Dustin Brown, and John Tavares.
