Brad Richards and a group of New York Rangers managed to raise about $10K for those affected by Hurricane Sandy with a couple of hockey clinics, according to New York Newsday’s Steve Zipay.

Marian Gaborik, Brian Boyle and Jeff Halpern were also among the other Rangers - 11 overall - who were on hand.

“We know what’s gone on, we’re trying to do different things in different areas,” Richards said. “Hopefully it does something for the community and the kids. We’re in a position to do something; guys do a lot of this stuff but it goes unnoticed. We just want to be part of the community.”

The two 45-minute sessions attracted about 300 people, Zipay reports.
