Another member of the Flyers is off to Europe for the lockout.

ESPN.com’s Pierre LeBrun reports Matt Read will take his speedy talents to Sweden and play for Sodertalje during the lockout. Read’s agent Neil Sheehy confirmed the signing.

Read burst onto the scene last season as an undrafted forward out of Bemidji State College scoring 24 goals and adding 23 assists for Philadelphia. Read was able to do his damage playing just over 17 minutes a game and giving the Flyers tremendous depth help.

Read joins a growing list of Flyers players abroad but by going to Sweden he’s taking a different route as Wayne Simmonds, Danny Briere, and Claude Giroux all landed in Germany.
