Not that long ago it was reported that NHL teams would be able to recall CHL players once the lockout ended.
TSN’s Bob McKenzie reports that teams had to submit a list of players, no more than two or three, that would be eligible to be called up. There are already some familiar names ready to get their shot to make the NHL once the season is ready to begin.
As for who made the cut, here’s the list. 11 teams did not submit any names.
Anaheim: Richard Rakell, John Gibson
Boston: Dougie Hamilton
Buffalo: Mikhail Grigorenko
Carolina: Ryan Murphy, Victor Rask
Columbus: Boone Jenner, Ryan Murray
Dallas: Radek Faksa, Matej Stransky, Brett Ritchie
Edmonton: Nail Yakupov, David Musil
Florida: Jonathan Huberdeau
Minnesota: Matthew Dumba
Montreal: Alex Galchenyuk
NY Islanders: Ryan Strome, Griffin Reinhart
Ottawa: Cody Ceci, Stefan Noesen
Philadelphia: Scott Laughton
Pittsburgh: Scott Harrington, Olli Maatta, Derrick Pouliot
St. Louis: Ty Rattie
Toronto: Morgan Rielly, David Broll
Vancouver: Frank Corrado
Washington: Thomas Wilson
Winnipeg: Mark Scheifele
Just because a team has listed a player doesn’t mean they will bring them up, just that they’ll have the option to do it. Of course, they’ll need the lockout to end at a reasonable time to make this list useful.
