Back to the bargaining table -- NHL, NHLPA to meet Friday

Bettman and Fehr

The NHL and NHLPA will be back at the bargaining table Friday for the first formal discussions since Sept. 12, three days before the CBA expired.

According to the Canadian Press, the two sides will discuss non-core economic issues after failing to substantially close the gap on how to divvy up the league’s hockey-related revenue.

No specifics were provided, but non-core economic issues could include limits on contract lengths, arbitration, supplemental discipline, player safety, drug testing, Olympic participation, and management rights.
