The NHL and NHLPA are “likely to get together” before the NHLPA’s huge player meeting on Wednesday, Bob McKenzie reports.
A new offer from the players is also possible according to RDS and Aaron Ward, although McKenzie said it’s too early to say if that’s true.
The players discussed “negotiation options” for about an hour and a half today, according to Ward.
RDS reports that NHL executive Bill Daly “expects some movement” from the NHLPA before tomorrow’s player-specific meeting, which is expected to include roughly 300 NHLers.
This development comes a day after the NHL and NHLPA exchanged barbs on a variety of subjects, including a canceled labor board meeting.
