NHL, NHLPA disagree over canceled labor board hearing

Bill Daly

The NHL and NHLPA can’t even agree why the Alberta Labour Board canceled Tuesday’s lockout-related hearing.

Earlier today, union head Donald Fehr told The Canadian Press that the NHL had “abandoned its case.” As a result, NHLPA General Counsel Don Zavelo believes the league cannot lock out the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers.

Not true, deputy commissioner Bill Daly told RDS.

“Don doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” Daly said.
