Today’s bargaining session in New York City between the NHL and NHLPA proved to be a short one, but it won’t be the only one.
The two sides met for approximately 45 minutes and NHLPA Executive Director Donald Fehr, along with his brother Steve, left the meeting. As Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review shares, they’re not done for the day yet.
“We’ll have to go back and talk to our players about what we discussed,” Fehr said.
It’s believed the two sides will reconvene later this afternoon and continue discussions. It’s unknown whether either side presented a new offer. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly are there representing for the owners.
