It’s official -- Simmonds signs six-year extension with Flyers

CSNPhilly.com is reporting Wayne Simmonds’ contract extension with the Philadelphia Flyers is worth $23.04 million over six years (cap hit $3.84 million).

TSN’s Bob McKenzie first reported the extension Wednesday and the Flyers made it official today.

Simmonds, 23, has one year left on his current deal. The extension makes him Philly property through 2018-19.

Of note, Andy Strickland of TrueHockey.com says the Simmonds’ deal is worth $23.875 million over six years.
