New Jersey Devils forward Patrik Elias denied puck burglary on Wednesday, but for one reason or another, he’s going to give the Los Angeles Kings’ their Stanley Cup puck back. Rich Hammond reports it as so, along with Elias’ excuse: it was in his equipment bag.
Patrik Elias will return the Game 6 puck to the Kings. He apparently found it in his equipment bag after he returned from vacation.
In the grand scheme of things, the most important part of the story is that the Kings are going to get a part of their history back. Considering the fact that the franchise had been Cup-less before this year despite being founded in 1967, it’s understandable that the Kings were getting a little anxious.
So let me ask the fun question, then: did Elias return the puck after honestly stumbling upon it or did he give in to that guilt? If it’s the latter instead of the former, we might as well call this “The Tale of the Tell-Tale Puck.”
