Go ahead and scratch Francois Giguere off the list of candidates for Montreal’s vacation general manager position. Or as Google Translate puts it, “We must destroy another name from the list of potential candidates for the position of CEO of Canadian.”
Giguere, the former Avalanche GM, told La Presse that the Habs have informed him he’s out of the running.
As for who’s left, La Presse reports that NBC analyst Pierre McGuire remains a serious candidate. And if not McGuire, it’s likely one of Marc Bergevin (assistant GM in Chicago) or Julien BriseBois (assistant GM in Tampa Bay) will get the job.
