Hockey fans in New York City have until Friday to go to Times Square, drink out of a 21-foot-tall, 6,600-pound Stanley Cup, and totally jinx the New York Rangers.

Here’s a picture of said Cup:

As you can see, it’s bigger than the actual Stanley Cup.

Also, the actual Stanley Cup doesn’t have a fountain.

The giant Cup was unveiled Wednesday in a ceremony to mark the start of the NHL playoffs, celebrate the fact each game will be televised nationally courtesy NBC Sports Group, and boast about NYC’s cool, refreshing drinking water.

“The Stanley Cup replica highlights one of our greatest resources, and helps celebrate the start of what will undoubtedly be an exciting playoff run,” said Mayor Michael Bloomberg. “I want to thank the NHL and the NBC Sports Group for their partnership, and our City Department of Environmental Protection for their work to keep our water clean.”

In your face, Mexico City.
