The man who unsuccessfully fought the NHL to move the Phoenix Coyotes to Hamilton in 2009 is only worth hundreds of millions now.
Jim Balsillie, the former co-CEO of Research in Motion, resigned from the company’s board yesterday on the same day the Blackberry maker announced lower-than-expected quarterly earnings.
And he resigned with just $385 million in stock to his name.
According to Forbes, Balsillie’s net worth was $3.8 billion in 2008, so you can’t help but feel for the guy. Hopefully he sold off some stock before the iPhone took over the world, otherwise he’ll have to enjoy life in the rat race with the rest of us.
