Kris Letang (lower-body injury) won’t play Thursday or Friday when Pittsburgh visits Long Island and Buffalo, respectively.
The Penguins’ top defenseman missed last night’s 5-3 home loss to the Islanders, and coach Dan Bylsma said this morning that Letang is still day-to-day.
Not surprisingly, the club hasn’t been too forthcoming about Letang’s exact ailment, but Pens GM Ray Shero said yesterday it wasn’t a concussion. (Which is good, because you don’t want a lower-body concussion.)
According to the Post-Gazette, Letang was injured Sunday versus New Jersey when “he went feet-first into the end boards awkwardly when he was tripped by Devils forward Ryan Carter.”
