Turns out Paul Henderson hasn’t accepted an invite to play a hockey game in Red Square

Paul Henderson

And this is why we were skeptical about whether an exhibition game commemorating the 40th anniversary of the 1972 Summit Series between Canada and the Soviet Union would be played in Moscow’s Red Square on Feb. 26:

Canada’s Paul Henderson, the hero of the series, denies he’s accepted an invite to the game, as was reported by RIA Novosti.

“I haven’t talked to a soul, no one at all,” Henderson told the Canadian Press. “In fact, I’m going to be down in the Caribbean on holidays.”

He added: “No, I’m not going. There’s no interest whatsoever.”
