James Neal may be made of sterner stuff than most humans.
After the Penguins reported the other day that he broke his foot and could be out for a substantial amount of time, leave it to Neal to show up on the ice at Penguins practice this morning.
According to Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he was skating on his normal line with Evgeni Malkin and Chris Kunitz as well as working on their first power play unit.
With all of that going on, it’s hard to imagine that Neal will be out of the lineup tonight’s game against Ottawa and as he told Pens staffers afterward, he’s good to go tonight.
It’s a medical marvel that Neal will play tonight but unlike their other injury problems, perhaps the initial diagnosis for Neal was a bit hasty.
