Earlier this morning, Yerdon opined that Buffalo’s Ville Leino would “absolutely” get a call from NHL discipline czar Brendan Shahanan for this hit on Philly rookie Matt Read.

Turns out he was right.

The NHL has announced Leino will face a hearing with the Department of Player Safety this afternoon. Again, here’s the hit for those that missed it earlier:

Of note: Leino has no past discipline record that would classify him a repeat offender and has only received 38 PIM in 149 NHL contests.
