Porter faces disciplinary hearing after kneeing Booth

Kevin Porter

Colorado’s Kevin Porter will have a disciplinary hearing today with the NHL after kneeing Vancouver’s David Booth on Tuesday.

Porter was assessed a kneeing major and thrown out of the game versus the Canucks. Since then, it’s been announced that Booth will miss 4-6 weeks with an MCL sprain.

Porter, 25, was apologetic about the incident, telling the Denver Post, “It was just an unfortunate play. I’m trying to do my job, play the body, take the man, and he made a quick move and I kind of held my ground. Like I said, it was an unfortunate play. I hope he’s OK.”
