The Edmonton Oilers suffered a tough 5-2 defeat to the Colorado Avalanche, but the bigger loss might be to their sophomore star Taylor Hall. The winger suffered a shoulder injury after two hits by Avs defensemen: one by Ryan Wilson and the other by Kyle Quincey. Here’s video of the second check that knocked him out of the rest of the contest:

Losing Hall would be a huge blow to the Oilers, who are riding the outstanding play of their dynamic young duo of Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. There’s no word yet on how bad the shoulder injury is, so we will keep our eyes open for updates.
