Which GMs were “working the room” at today’s meeting?

From Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun:

Garrioch Tweet

Garrioch has sources saying both were working the room big time, which conjures up images of two yacht salesman at the boat show trying to peddle their wares. “Can I interest you in a 46-foot Rene Bourque?”

That said, Feaster and Howson probably found a few semi-interested buyers. In the last week alone we’ve heard Mike Yeo rip the Wild, Jack Capuano rip the Islanders, Claude Noel rip the Jets and one GM tell CBC’s Elliotte Friedman “there are a lot of us who don’t like our teams.”

If you’re betting on one GM to strike a deal before the other, put your money on Howson. He’s only got three players with no-movement or no-trade clauses (Rick Nash, Jeff Carter and James Wisniewski) and a bunch of veterans coming off the books at year’s end: Kristian Huselius, Samuel Pahlsson, Vinny Prospal and Radek Martinek, all potential playoff rentals.

Feaster, meanwhile, has his hands tied. A ridiculous number of Flames have movement clauses -- Bourque, Jarome Iginla, Alex Tanguay, Matt Stajan, Olli Jokinen, Curtis Glencross, Jay Bouwmeester, Mark Giordano, Cory Sarich, Anton Babchuk and Mikka Kiprusoff -- which makes you wonder if anybody on Calgary’s negotiating team knew what the acronyms NTC and NMC stood for.
