During today’s NBC Game of the Week that saw Detroit win 4-3 over Chicago, Pierre McGuire and Mike Milbury picked out who they like for the NHL’s individual season awards. While there were some guys they could agree on winning some awards, others they weren’t quite so clear on.
As the two discussed who they liked for the Vezina Trophy, Mike was able to get Pierre to agree with who he chose and busted his chops appropriately for breaking him down. As for who they like to take home the hardware, there’s a few selections in there that might surprise you.
The Pittsburgh Penguins ended a long run of playoff overtime struggles on Wednesday … and are now one win away from ending the Washington Capitals’ season.
Many expected the Penguins to crater on defense without Kris Letang (they were 2-8-1 in the regular season without him). While there were shaky moments, Pittsburgh emphasized its speed and other strengths in taking a 3-2 overtime thriller against Washington.
With that, the Penguins’ series lead grows to 3-1.
