Alex Ovechkin has had his troubles scoring goals at the same rate he has in the past this season, but when he does get them he does his part to make them memorable. During the Caps 4-1 loss to the Kings yesterday afternoon, Ovechkin gave Caps fans a reminder of what he can do when he’s got the space to do it.
In the first period, Ovechkin carried the puck up the left wing before being defended by Drew Doughty. Doughty thought he had the correct angle to defend Ovechkin . As it turns out, Doughty gave Alex all the room he needed in order to let a wicked snap shot go from out deep and beat Kings rookie goalie Jonathan Bernier.
