Whether you’re interested for fantasy hockey reasons or just want to know which goalie your team is playing in a given day, we thought it might be helpful to share our best guesses (based on various previews from newspapers and Web sites plus our own instincts) on who might start each day. Here’s what’s on tap for this afternoon’s starts. We’ll get you tonight’s starting goalies later today. We’ll also update this post when starters are confirmed.

7:00 pm ET game

Detroit @ Columbus

Likely Detroit starter: Jimmy Howard - He will make his 11th consecutive start tonight. This is a big one, too. (Source.)

Likely Columbus starter: Steve Mason - I wouldn’t be shocked if Mathieu Garon got the starter tomorrow since the team is playing a back to back. (Source.)

7:30 PM ET games

Toronto @ Buffalo

Likely Toronto starter: Jonas Gustavsson (Source.)

Likely Buffalo starter: Ryan Miller - It sounds like Miller is on his way back. James Mirtle originally reported this. (Source.)

Montreal @ Atlanta

Likely Montreal starter: Alex Auld - A rare start for a solid backup. (Source.)

Likely Atlanta starter: Ondrej Pavelec - The Thrashers have been playing pretty well lately and Pavelec is a big part of that. (Source.)

NY Rangers @ Florida

Likely NY Rangers starter: Henrik Lundqvist - He needs to get his game together as soon as possible. (Source.)

Likely Florida starter: Scott Clemmensen - Haven’t seen much of that guy who once kept the New Jersey Devils afloat when Martin Brodeur was injured a few years ago, have we? (Source.)

8:30 PM ET game

St. Louis @ Dallas

Likely St. Louis starter: Jaroslav Halak (Source.)

Likely Dallas starter: Kari Lehtonen - He’ll start at least one of two back-to-back games with the Blues this weekend. (Source.)

10:00 PM ET game

San Jose @ Vancouver

Likely San Jose starter: Antti Niemi - Could there be a little intrigue for the Sharks goaltending situation? (Source.)

Likely Vancouver starter: Roberto Luongo (Source.)
