We’re hoping this doesn’t become a regular segment, but we won’t lie if we told you we’d be fully entertained if it ended up becoming one. A few nights ago we saw St. Louis’ Jaroslav Halak find a way to help the Detroit Red Wings score by serving up a goal into his own net. Apparently Sabres surprise starter tonight, Patrick Lalime, didn’t want Halak to feel too alone in the “epic fail” department. Lalime got the sudden start in tonight’s game against the Lightning after Ryan Miller was a late scratch with a lower body injury.

Lalime did well enough to win tonight, but he played too prominent of a role in setting up the game-winning goal by Adam Hall. Lalime tried to stick the puck away after it rolled to him on a dump in and he ended up putting it right on Hall’s stick and he snapped it back at him and surprised Lalime on the rebound for the goal that made it 2-1. See the failure for yourself.
