Two quick notes for tonight’s games, one of which is already in progress.

  • Mike Modano doesn’t know what kind of reception he will receive during his awkward return to Dallas, as he suits up for the first time against his old team as a Detroit Red Wing tonight. Whether you’re a queasy Dallas Stars fan outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth area (the game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest locally), a Detroit Red Wings devotee or just want to witness the drama yourself, you should have a few options to watch the game. If you’re lucky enough to have the NHL Network, you’ll be able to watch the game live at 8:30 pm (Eastern Time). Should be interesting to watch.
  • The game already started, but the Predators raised a few eyebrows by scratching two of their few scoring options for tonight’s game against the St. Louis Blues. It’s not that stunning that they won’t dress Sergei Kostitsyn, but seeing big free agent signing Matthew Lombardi scratched is pretty surprising. (Source: Joshua Cooper.)
