Jordan Staal and Bill Guerin are both likely to be game-time decisions tonight against the Montreal Canadiens, although it appears that Staal is much closer to returning.
When he does return, he’ll use the same skates he was wearing when he was was cut by P.K Subban’s skate blade, which he says makes skating much easier with the injury. Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazzette, has this quote from Staal on what happened immediately after the hit.
“I went to the bench. I looked down. It wasn’t looking good. So I went to the [dressing] room and took the skate off. I knew it wasn’t just a cut. I went straight to the hospital, had a little surgery, went home and had a good sleep.”
