The 2010 Masterton Trophy finalists

We have our finalists for the first of the NHL awards, which will be announced one award at a time over the next two weeks at Noon EST. Here are the Bill Masterton Trophy finalists, given to the layer who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey. The award is voted on by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

Jed Ortmeyer, San Jose Sharks

Kurtis Foster, Tampa Bay Lightning

Jose Theodore, Washington Capitals

I’m just going to go out on a limb and say that Theodore will likely win this award. Here’s a great story on Theodore as a reminder.

The 2010 NHL Awards will be broadcast live from the Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Hotel Las Vegas on June 23, 2010, on VERSUS in the United States and CBC in Canada.
