Coyotes take 1-0 lead into 1st intermission

The keys for a Coyotes victory: be aggressive, get the early goal, don’t allow the Red Wings to dictate play.

I guess one out of three is....ok.

Ilya Bryzgalov made 13 saves for the Coyotes, who had to kill off a significant amount of time on the penalty kill, yet walked away with an improbable 1-0 lead after 20 minutes. The Red Wings had control of the play for nearly the entire period, as the Coyotes failed to muster any sort of physical presence or offensive attack and looked to be much like the team that scored just one goal in the past two games.

The Red Wings did fail to convert on three power plays, including a lengthy 5-on-3. If Detroit had one thing to complain about after the period, it would be their lack of execution with the man advantage.
