Bruins’ Seindenberg out 8 weeks after surgery

On Saturday we reported that Dennis Seidenberg had to leave the Bruins game due to a lacerated wrist, which would require 15 stitches to close. Today, we’ve received word that Seidenberg will most likely miss the remainder of the season (unless the Bruins find a way to get to game six of the Stanley Cup finals) after having surgery on that wrist to repair a damaged tendon.

Kevin Dupont of the Boston Globe has some interesting notes on the incident from the weekend, in which the Bruins also lost Mark Stuart for two weeks thanks to finger surgery.

Not a good trip to Toronto for the Black-and-Gold. In a span of less than 24 hours they lost two of their key backliners, after initial indications from hospital examinations there had the club believing both players would not be sidelined for any significant time.

Stuart had been diagnosed with an infection in his finger, while Seidenberg was told in Toronto that there was no internal damage to his wrist. He had the surgery only after being unable to make it through a morning workout on Monday.

Think the Toronto hospitals have it out for the Bruins? Nahhh....
