Jersey’s 3-0 win over Atlanta tonight, he not only notches his 110th shutout but also his 600th victory in the NHL. The 600 mark is all the more impressive because he’s the only goalie to ever reach that mark and he increases the distance between himself and the goaltender who is second all time, Patrick Roy.

If you’re wondering who the closest active goaltender is to Martin Brodeur, you’ll have to look to Detroit and Chris Osgood who is 10th all time in wins with 396. I’m going out on a limb here and saying that Ozzie won’t catch him.

The next active goaltender even remotely within striking distance of Brodeur is Nikolai Khabibulin of Edmonton with 303 wins. Given that Marty is going to, likely, play for a few more seasons (I know, again with the assuming) his stranglehold on the all-time wins crown is likely to stay pretty strong for a long time to come.
